Our Wine Room

Another innovation at Opus 39 is the Wine Room, adjacent to the Dining Room. After the menu is presented, you are invited into this well-stocked room to sample from an impressive collection of some of the finest small production wines from around the globe. With over 400 selections, all available by the glass or bottle, the wine-savvy staff will take you through a tasting tour of the world's wine regions. Chef McMillan is also available to suggest wine parings to accompany each meal or even each course. With an award winning selection of wines priced close to retail, the Wine Cellar at Opus 39 Restaurant offers high quality wines in any price range. Wines are also available for retail sale.

Many of the wines are selected by Chef McMillan and his wife and partner, Christine McMillan, while on their "behind-the-scenes" tours of the California Wine Country. Twice a year, the McMillan's host private trips to top boutique wineries and exclusive restaurants of the famous Napa and Sonoma Valleys. Upon their return, Chef McMillan prepares a exclusive wine dinner featuring wines discovered or rediscovered on the latest trip.

Chef McMillan is also a knowledgeable teacher. Wine Classes, to heighten one's sensitivity to balancing wines with foods, and Cooking Classes, for all levels and taught in the Open Kitchen, are held periodically.
